Diving Dogs! {and whitewater}

One of my favorite places in Charlotte is the US National Whitewater Center. It’s a great place to “enjoy the wild outdoors”. Recently, the Husband and I went to watch the Purina Incredible Dog Challenge dock diving dogs. We watch these events on TV all the time, so it was great to FINALLY see them dock dive in person. Maybe you have to be a dog person to get really in to it… which is exactly what we are, so we had a BLAST!

If you’re not familiar with this sport, I’ll sum it up for you. You take a dock, a dog, a frisbee/toy/something exciting and the dog with the longest jump off of the dock wins. Of course, there’s much more training and practicing to it than what it sounds like.

I’ve tried it with one of our cats and the bathtub. Didn’t go over so well. Anyway…

Thought I’d share some photos from the fun day :)

Soo much FUN! The dogs were amazing! And it was blazing HOT outside. I was ready to jump off of that dock myself!

    How much fun! I’ve seen these on TV and am always amazed! Would’ve loved to have been able to rub shoulders with some great trainers and get some good tips :-). Sounds like you had a great weekend!

    Yes, I agree! Dogs are always better to be around… and of course, dog people, too. We actually picked the neighborhood we live in because of it being one of the most “Dog Friendly” in Charlotte, haha. :)

    This looks like something that I would LOVE to do! How fun! But then, anything with dogs makes me happy right now. It’s the only thing keeping me from exploding from excitement and impatience while I wait for my puppy to be born and to be ready to come home. :)
