The aroma of fresh paint {& apple pie}

Yesterday evening was spent closely examining around two dozen extremely similar paint swatches that were taped all over our dining room wall.

When we moved in to our new place in November, it had fresh, beautiful paint all throughout. Unforch… the accent color suuuucked. Hubs says that it looks like melted peanut butter {I still have no idea why/how melted PB is a different shade than non-melted PB, but whatev Hubs.}

Anyway, this is the absolutely hideous color that is on every. single. accent wall in the entire house.

Gross, right?

Since we moved in right before Thanksgiving and had plans to travel a lot through the holidays, we decided that we’d just deal with it until after the first of the year. In the meantime, I had been collecting swatches of the chic colors I so desired.

After hours of debating and narrowing down, we finally decided on the one. Off to Lowe’s we go!

Hubs promptly started taping the dining room and the media niche in the living room.

And this is the yumminess on which we agreed…

First coat was primer tinted with out shade of paint.

So far, so good!

Once the primer was up, we dug in to this lovely dutch apple pie that came out of the oven at just the right time. The smell of pie & fresh paint goes oddly well together.

Things started looking really nice as the paint dried. Final photos coming in the next day or so once I hang some frames and make the walls all pretty. {again, pretty please ignore that horrible mess due to painting!}

    The color’s really pretty. Blues are hard to get just right!

    Picking paint is my least favorite thing… ever. So stressful for me. Now… eating pie, is quite easy. ;) Loving the color of the room. Your house is so pretty.

    Picking paint is VERY stressful for me, too! How come the color always looks different once it’s on the wall? The swatches seem to always look SO much better! LOL :) Thanks for the compliment :)

    Thanks, Gigi! I swear, blue’s really are the most difficult – I always screw them up. I still debating whether or not I like this one. When I saw it in daylight for the first time I was like “Whoa! That’s a little blue!” – I may paint over it. LOL.
