Monday is Mine. { & end of month round up}

Well, there you have it. It’s Monday & the end of the month. That fleeew by!

Also, my weekend flew by. The upside is we have a short week, so even though it’s Monday… it’s kind of like Wednesday. Which still is kind of blah.

We’ve made it through the first month of a new year. How’s your 2011 going to far?

I really can’t believe that tomorrow is February, and even more than that, I can’t believe that Valentine’s Day is just two weeks away. I really need to figure out what I want to buy and/or make for the hubster… but, that’s another post for another day. It’s the last day of January, which means it’s time for an end-of-month blogosphere wrap up!

What exactly is an end-of-month blogosphere wrap up, you ask? It’s something that I just made up {blame the espresso.} Actually, it’s part of the new schtuff that I told you I’d be doing around here this year. At the end of every month, I’m going to do a round up of:

  • The things that happened on Designer Wife that month.
  • My favorite posts from other bloggers for that month.
  • A link to a new blog that I discovered and am loving that month.
  • Maybe some other stuff.

Also, now is a good time to sign up for the official monthly-ish newsletter, if you haven’t already. It’s free, fun and… um, pretty? Sign up now to be sure you get the February edition :) {click here}

* This month on Designer Wife…

What would a beginning of year blog post be without mentioning something about resolutions? I kicked the year off by telling you why I don’t “do” New Year resolutions. Ever. Surprisingly, a lot of you don’t do them, either.

I kicked of my 2011 Photo 365 Project: one photo everyday for the entire year.

The annual Eat In Month challenge kicked off and saved my budget!

met red meat.

There was some talk about defining and measuring happiness, with some pretty infographs.

We actually had a series of snow days in the South.

While digging up some old links, I rediscovered my blogging roots, and found out that a lot of you came to blogging the same way that I did.

This vegan chocolate peanut butter no-bake cookie recipe that I came up with caused me to gain 5 lbs {because I consumed two batches.}

A sick day sparked an epiphany in which I realized some cant’s, can’s, dreams & plans.

I got real with you when I shared my personal finances and the ridiculous amount of money I needlessly spend on dining out and coffee shops.

And, just last week, I shared this amazingly awesome Creative To-Do list, which a lot of you seemed to identify with.

* I love these bloggers…

Gigi’s blog, KludgyMom, is one of my all time favorite places to frequent. I never know if I’m going to laugh, cry, or be humbled. She did an open letter to Kyle Richards this month and it only made me wish that I had written it first.

Gina from It’s How She Rolls recently blogged about her One Little Word for this year. I love how she had so many other words lined up to choose from, but Honor chose her.

Stephanie over at A Professor’s Wife took me back home in her post about Growing Up in Mountain Mama.

* New blog crush…

Allison from Happy Tales Blog! A girl, her dog, and their boy – how could you NOT love that? Healthy living, puppy dogs, and the Queen City. I love it!

OK, January, that’s a wrap!

What amazing thing did you do this month?
