30 Days of Thanks

It’s not an original idea, but it’s a brilliant idea. I’m sure you’re hearing this “30 Days of Thanks” thing all over the place lately. I first heard about it at church a couple of weekends ago. In fact, if you’re in Charlotte, you can check out the Elevation 30 Days of Thanks website to make a difference in our community by volunteering to serve the hungry with some amazing organizations. Our small group is serving dinner at Jackson Park Ministries one evening next week.

This whole thing at church started the idea of being thankful for something in particular every day. As I made a list of things I’m thankful for, I polled twitter and facebook to ask my friends to share their thoughts, too. I heard everything from a new job, laughter, iPhones, to moving to the south, to a new hope for life because of a liver transplant. Absolutely amazing.

So, in an effort to be more aware of the things we have to be thankful for, I’m doing a little challenge and am inviting you to do it along with me. I’ve made a little list of thankful prompts that you can download here or you may get the PDF  here.

Feel free to go in order or pick one randomly each day. There’s a few ways you can play:

  • Are you a blogger? Write a blog post based on the prompt.
  • Are you a photo lovin’ fool? Use the prompt to inspire you to take a photo that day. Share it on your blog or tweet it.
  • Are you all of the above? GOOD! Me, too! Capture a photo of your thankfulness that day and write a blog post around it.
  • Are you none of the above? No worries, you can tweet it using hashtag #DW30DOT {that’s for Designer Wife 30 Days Of Thanks!} or share it on the Designer Wife facebook page.

If you’ve blogged it, be sure to come back to the 30 Days of Thanks page here and link it up to share your post!

If you’re participating in the 30 Days of Thanks, or, if you’d just like to spread the word, feel free to grab the snippet of code in the box below so you can add this badge to your blog!

Designer Wife

Number 1 on the list is “a person you’re thankful for.”

Without a doubt, I’m thankful for my best friend, my husband. I mean, let’s face it… without him, there’d be no Designer Wife. ;)

Have your thankfulness ready to share? Link it up here:

Excited to share more of what I’m thankful for and to read yours, too!

I love this idea and I will definitely plan on participating! Not sure how yet… maybe several ways but I definitely need to remember what I’m thankful for! :) Thanks for the inspiration!

Looks like it’s time to spice up the Albany Times Union blogs a little, Designer Wife style!  These folks won’t know what hit them.  I keep getting comments like, “Your blog is a breath of fresh air” – it’s because of where I started, and the blogging “culture” i came from before joining the TU.  30 days. I’m in. Only I missed yesterday, so I’ll play catch up.

So glad you love it! Hope you’ll come back and share once you decide on how you want to be thankful. :)

This is a good reminder in a busy world about all that we have to be thankful for.  Much of which, is right in front of us!  I tried to put the badge in my blog but the code didn’t work.  Maybe I’m not doing it right?  Any guidance would be appreciated.

    Thanks!
