{designing a healthy, balanced & beautiful life.}

*Hello, Gorgeous*

In short, this is a blog about a girl who likes girly things and living a healthy, balanced, and absolutely beautiful lifestyle. Also, I'm addicted to lattes. If you feel the need to know more, check out the "about" page at the top. If that doesn't scare you away, please feel free to read around, comment on some stuff, and have fun. So happy to have you here. Can I pour you a drink?

I love beauty. I love beautiful things, beautiful people, beautiful blogs, and absolutely adore blogs about beauty.

A couple of weeks ago, I was contacted by the friendly, fabulous people over at EndlessBeauty.com and they asked if I’d be interested in being in their Blogger Spotlight.

Um, you bet your pretty face I would!

Have you seen this website? I was sold when I read their tag line: “A Healthier Approach to Beauty.” EB, marry me? K thanks.

Endless Beauty has a plethora of Health & Beauty articles, Product Reviews, and some amazing Videos.

Speaking of their videos, check out this Pin-Up Girl Makeup Tutorial from their site! I’m LOOOVING it. Totally rocking this look for the weekend!

Cute, right? TONS more on their site!!

Now, get this

On Wednesday, I was their featured blogger {{eeeek!}} – you can check that out here.

Today, they’re featuring one of my favorite blogger girls, Coastal Chick! See her article here and check out her blog here.

I may be biased, but I do have to say that they have an impeccable taste in bloggers. :: wink ::

Be sure to stop by and visit them!! They’re kind of my new crush. While you’re on EB, leave some heartfelt comments on any of the posts you like to show the love. DO IT! I mean, if you feel like it.

Tell me, lovely friends, where on the world wide interwebs do you go for fabulous beauty reading? Do share in the comments!

Smooches!

*I was not compensated in any way for this post, I’m just simply lovin’ EndlessBeauty.com and wanted to shout out to them. I’m so freakin’ nice.

Yo! It’s National Yoga Month! {ohmmm}

Post image for Yo! It’s National Yoga Month! {ohmmm}

by Lindsay on September 1, 2010

in yoga,{Healthy}

If you’ll recall, I blogged a couple of weeks ago about getting ready for National Yoga Month. Well, IT’S HERE!

It was last years Yoga Month that really opened up the yoga studio doors to me – and it’s been amazing. Also, I’m lucky enough to live in a community that is full of yogis and an incredible amount of yoga studios – there’s truly a studio for everyone here.

So,why does Yoga need it’s own month??

National Yoga Month September 2010 invites all styles of yoga to participate in an awareness campaign designed to educate about the many benefits of yoga and inspire our fellow citizens to live healthier, happier lives.

Every year in the month of September, the entire yoga community comes together to spread the word and offers opportunities for people to give it a try and experience something amazing. There are over 1500 free classes & events going on around the nation all through the month of September for YOU to take advantage of. In addition to that, over 1200 studios are offering an entire week of yoga for FREEEEEE during the month, so find one near you! Use this to test drive several studios around you to see which one fits and “feels right” to you.

Not in to public display of yoga? No problem. Lucky for you, one of my absolute favorite yogis, Tara Stiles, has a new book that just released YESTERDAY {{{ aaaaahhhhhhh!! }}.  Slim Calm Sexy Yoga is the 15-minute yoga solution for feeling and looking your best from head to toe AND you can find it on Amazon now.

Why yoga?

Incredible health benefits, both physically and mentally. Plus, it makes for a fun evening out with the girlfriends. ;)

Yoga has been researched extensively and is know to have a wide range of health benfits for body, mind, spirit:

  • Lower blood pressure
  • Decreased stress
  • Greater flexibility (not just physically!)
  • Enhanced brain function
  • Lower cholesterol
  • Better skeletal alignment
  • Strengthened bones/joints
  • Improved respiration
  • Weight Loss
  • Enhanced circulation
  • Easier transition
    through menopause
  • Deeper peace of mind

Don’t anger the Yoga Gods…

For an entertaining and pretty real look at what your first time with the yoga mat might be like, take a read through Jessica’s first experience on her blog.

But wait! There’s moooore!

To get you in the mood {wink, wink}, I’ll be giving away some yoga goodies throughout the month of September. Check back Sunday for the first giveaway!

Also, stop by the official Yoga Month website for great info & videos.

For those of you already aquatinted with your mat, what’s your favorite or least favorite pose?

Namaste.

When I typed that title, it occurred to me that I had already used it once before in a post involving narcotics and cat nip. Um, yea. This tells me two things about myself: I really love watermelon. I still really love Dirty Dancing. Let me back up. When we were visiting home last weekend, my grandparents [...]
